Teaching is an art form
Since 2004, I've had the privilege of working at Woodstock Academy as a Special Education teacher. The best thing about my job is that two days are never the same. It's unpredictable and rewarding. I've had some extraordinary opportunities as a teacher - and I'm sure there are many more to come!
I love technology. I recently completed my 6th year in Educational Technology from UCONN! This amazing opportunity has connected me to professionals who use technology in inspirational ways, opened my eyes to tools I never knew existed, and encouraged me to take risks and try new things. I can learn and grow, and pass this knowledge to my colleagues and students. Currently I'm finishing classes through Southern Connecticut State University to earn my endorsement as a Library Media Specialist. This blends my love of technology and reading. It's my dream job!
I also am a Google Certified Educator. That's right, all things Google. Google is more than a brand, it's become a way of life for most of us. Google has paved the way for collaboration that no other company has done before. I love what Google can do for me as an individual, for my students, and for the classroom.
My blog - called "Under the Oak Tree" - which, unfortunately, experiences periods of abandonment, is an opportunity for me to share how I link new knowledge into my daily life. Whether it be sharing what students have done, aspirations I have, or opportunities I see, it's a glimpse into the workings of my mind.

Why do I do, what I do? The answer is in my philosophy of teaching.
Teach teachers? By running professional development workshops, I'm able to connect with my colleagues on a deeper level. Here are some resources from workshops I've run in the past.
